When do you serve solid foods to the baby? Experts answer.
You
can start serving solid foods to a 5-year-old baby
The
German Nutrition Association said that solid foods can be started for a baby
between the ages of 5 and 7 months, as the child at this time is more alert and
attentive.
The
society explained that solid foods should be provided to the infant in a
certain order that corresponds to the physiological changes of the child, where
a meal consisting of vegetables and meat should be served, then a meal
consisting of cereals and milk, and between the seventh and eighth months a
meal consisting of cereals can be served. And fruits.
Sugar
and salt should be avoided as long as the child eats infants, the association
added, noting that if necessary, fruits can be used for dessert instead of
sugar, the German news agency DPA reported.
For
beverages, the Association explained that the child should be accustomed to
drinks other than milk when his diet consisted of three solid meals, noting
that tap water is the best drink, while the juice may not be provided to the
infant.
